First day in Jerusalem

These steps and Temple (Temple Mount) is where Paul and Jesus stood once and taught.
These are pictures of some of the prayers that people place in between the cracks for the stone. Some of them have been there for years others fall because of the wind or the rain.
Incredible!!! I have not place a wish there yet but, i would like to experience it before i leave.

Here I am looking the the south side of the city where on my far left is the Jewish Cemetery and the city behind me is the City of David (Haofel)
Here is one of the excavated sites on the south east ofthe West Wall where once Jesus walked - and where now I have had the pleasure to walk on. Amazing who knew I would in my life walk in the same path out Lord Jesus had walked many many years ago.
This is also in the same path - in these arches there used to be small shops where you could buy animals to worship in the temple or maybe exchange some money. Amazing, super exciting and just memorable.

Here i am standing in front a mosaic art of the old city within the walls
Behind me here is The Temple Mount where on the west wall is where the jews pray and on the south wall is where Paul and Jesus taught. (exciting)
Here is the Dome of the Rock (that is the golden dome)

So, with the Department of Architecture at the Catholic Univeristy of America - we are taking a class (studio) in Israel. To see and experience the city - the old and the new. This is my firt time out here and it has been great.

Here are some pictures of the Old Holy Land. Being a Catholic this i know will be one experience that i will never forget and I have been blessed to have had the pleasure of being here.

About Me

My photo
So, this blog began as a way to place my pictures for my Photography class this summer and later a place where i can share some of my pictures with friends and family while in the Holy Land. Coinsidently, the Jerusalem abroad class wanted us to start adding our pictures to a blog so that we can share it with our school and have something else to show while we are gone. Another way to express where we've been and what we have done. I thought that is was a great idea, given the fact that i had already started the blog. :) Israel-The Holy Land! We have seen many places, met wonderful people, and have had the change to live in Jerusalem for one month in the land where once 2000 years ago Jesus was and lived. I am a student at the Catholic University of America. Currently working on my Master's of Architecture. I am originally from El Salvador and have lived in Washington, DC since 1989.
