2nd Day in Jerusalem

Today we went to the Yad Vashem (The Holocast Museum). The place was amazing. Once we arrived the first place we went to see was the Children's Museum, this must of been the most emotional museum that i have ever been to. The Museum has mirrors all over and 4 candels, but with the way the mirrors are facing or located ( I believe) make it so that it looks like thousands of candels which represent the thousands of children that died. This place was too much for me - there is a speaker (recording) or someone given the names, ages and place of birth from every child. WOW! I could not take pictures of it and even if i did you would never experience the same emotions and you go through by actually being there.
Well - here are some pict of what is around and of the Holocast Museum itself (well the outside that is) :)

Afterwards, we headed to the Israel Museum where they are now displaying The Isaiah Scroll and Its Message of Peace. As well as an Entire Model of the Holy City at a 1:50 meters scale. Yes, the actual scrolls that were found sometime. And of course we could not take pictures of it (but.....someone really intelligent invented the "No Flash" on the cameras) sshhhhh......which helped me and another classmate get some shots of it. : )

Enjoy.

About Me

My photo
So, this blog began as a way to place my pictures for my Photography class this summer and later a place where i can share some of my pictures with friends and family while in the Holy Land. Coinsidently, the Jerusalem abroad class wanted us to start adding our pictures to a blog so that we can share it with our school and have something else to show while we are gone. Another way to express where we've been and what we have done. I thought that is was a great idea, given the fact that i had already started the blog. :) Israel-The Holy Land! We have seen many places, met wonderful people, and have had the change to live in Jerusalem for one month in the land where once 2000 years ago Jesus was and lived. I am a student at the Catholic University of America. Currently working on my Master's of Architecture. I am originally from El Salvador and have lived in Washington, DC since 1989.
